Your a nurse so let me ask you something. I have frozen shoulder causing muscle spasms in my back.sever ! Entire back. I can feel and see my soft tissue or dura actually separating from my forehead and back of head because of the spasms are pulling my muscles so tight. Well, my C7 bulges out and the bone will go out and then sometimes it will go flat.Why would the bone itself bulge out ?The Physical T. said it was probably the muscles just pulling on my spine. I was punched causing whip lash.

Also, for head aches I drink an alka seltzer because it is liquid and get right to the head ache. It works fast and it works well. Don't take it if you have ulcers or are on blood thinners or allergic to aspirin but it really works better than advil. I get electric shocks and heat and cold spells and chills but I had a spinal cord injury which caused a neurological problem. I think that the ssris screw with your nervous system. Also, drink Pedialyte which is a baby drink for electrolytes.

When your brother died it is natural to be depressed. That is called situational depression. Our bodies are supposed to have feelings. I hate the drug manufacturers and drug companies. They throw antidepressants to you and they have so many side effects but they worry so much about giving you a xanax. Drugs Kill and they Control people. They freak out when you have chronic pain and won't give you anything for Horrid Pain but they again throw you antidepressants for everything.Hope your ok

Have you gotten any relief from your symptoms? How long were you on SSRI's before you got off. I was prescribed Celexa for about 3 weeks and I decided to come off just because i don't believe medication can help me overcome what is a natural part of life (depression). Hope all is well!

if u aren't depressed why are you on so many drugs? I am on Lexapro and Xanax. Not sure why u have Xanax and Colonapan. Tramadol? I got that for a toothache once. Didn't do anything. I have missed doses of Lexapro so I know for a fact that the "brain zaps" do occur. You do know that u can not feel depressed but be depressed right? Anxiety is a symptom of depression. I wish you well and good luck. I eventually plan on quitting Lexapro as well. Good Luck brother. Hope u feel relief soon!

Thank you for sharing. I'm very sorry about your brother. I lost my father when I was seven and I still miss him and think about him all the time. This is normal and it is okay. I've healed a lot through the years. I also know how hard it is to get off ssri's. I was on one for a while and them my insurance refused to continue paying. So I cold turkeyed. Not a good thing. Lost 60 libs in three months and suffered terrible depression. Couldn't afford the med. Glad you feel better....

I took Prozac 12 years ago. I took 2 pills and after I took the medication it made my whole body from my head to my toes feel heavy. Lifting a cup of water was an effort. I lost 30 pounds within a months time. I was in bed from physical weakness between the heaviness and weight loss from August to February 1998. I have had panic attacks. I have felt eletrical shocks in my head to my spine. I started having seizures in 2007. Seizure meds. took this away. I am grateful I'm alive.

I know this video has been up for a long time Gary, and I've meant to write to you a lot sooner. I've sent you an e-mail as well, I know what you're going through, going through this myself, and indeed have been into way too many SSRI's whenever my neurologist has adjusted or changed dosages. Just to name a few, which include ansiolitics interspersed with SSRIs, making things worse: Lexapro, Amitriptiline, zoloft, risperdal, tyvanil, rivotril, fluoxetine...

I can sympathise with you. I began taking Lexapro when I was 16 years old for Major Depression. When I got off of it it was terrible, flu symptoms that wouldn't go away, headaches, and the brain zaps were just incredibly awful. Also, my depression got so much worse along with these symptoms. The withdrawal symptoms lasted a month, the brain zaps lasted longer. Been off it for years up until November, now weaning off of it but not feeling the withdrawal symptoms so bad, just extreme headache

@13abbitt yes but the ssris dont do away with long term memory as clonazepam does (was on 6mg/day for 10 yrs)... and benzo WD's can actually be deadly - similar to the DTs when you quit drinking (gaba receptor OWCH). ssri's are just about 3 weeks of feeling like you're physically sick with a flu that sometimes gives you electric shocks.

I was depressed when my brother died but too no drugs to get over this. I have endured the metal pain and I know I have to grow out of the emotions slowly. In US the psychotropic drugs are given out like candy! Most people are not mentally ill but victim to circumstance or an oppressive environment in which the live.

SSRI doesn't inhibit serotonin. It inhibits serotonin inhibitors. So it increases serotonin levels, not decrease.
